Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) work under the guidance of certified Physical Therapists to provide supportive patient care to people recovering from illnesses and injuries. They collaborate with the Physical Therapist regarding each patient’s condition and the treatments they will assist with during their session. PTAs are responsible for staging the treatment area with appropriate exercise equipment and adaptive tools, sanitizing the area, removing potential hazards, and ensuring sufficient space for treatment. Additionally, PTAs perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating patient records, and providing information and resources to family members or caregivers.
