About The Position
This is a 13-week contract position for an experienced Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in an acute rehabilitation setting. The role involves assessing patients, assisting Physical Therapists, implementing treatment plans, documenting progress, and educating patients and families. The position offers a Monday-Friday schedule with one weekend per month required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited PTA Program with an active PTA license in Indiana
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Physical Therapy
- 1 year of experience in an acute, Acute rehab or LTAC hospital setting.
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations
- Good clinical judgment, strong interpersonal skills, dexterity and compassion
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical condition and well-being.
- Assist Physical Therapists and other interdiciplinary healthcare providers.
- Assist in the creation of individualized treatment plans to help patients achieve their physical goals.
- Assist with Implementing therapeutic exercises and activities.
- Document patients' progress and communicate with other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques for continued improvement.
