About The Position
The Physical Therapy Assistant in Rehabilitation in Picayune, MS plays a critical role in supporting licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality patient care aimed at improving mobility, reducing pain, and preventing disability. This position involves working directly with patients under the supervision of a physical therapist to implement treatment plans tailored to individual needs. Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current Mississippi license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic exercise principles.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.

Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in executing treatment plans by guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities.
- Monitor and document patient responses and progress during therapy sessions, reporting any concerns to the supervising therapist.
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient therapy environment.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, use of assistive devices, and safety precautions to support recovery outside of therapy sessions.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize rehabilitation outcomes.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain cleanliness of therapy equipment and workspaces.
