About The Position

The Physical Therapy Assistant in Rehabilitation in Picayune, MS plays a critical role in supporting licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality patient care aimed at improving mobility, reducing pain, and preventing disability. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current Mississippi license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic exercise principles.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physical therapists in executing treatment plans by guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities.

  • Prepare treatment areas and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient therapy environment.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises, use of assistive devices, and safety precautions to support recovery outside of therapy sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain cleanliness of therapy equipment and workspaces.
