Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program
• Physical Therapist Assistant must be licensed in the state of Tennessee
• Ability to manage multiple patients and administer appropriate treatments including modalities
• Extensive knowledge in exercise physiology, biomechanics, and exercise prescription
• Working knowledge of billing regulations and limitations including CPT codes and basic knowledge of insurance related restrictions
• Comfortable effectively using MS Office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
• Good communication skills and the ability to perform patient education duties
• Neat and professional appearance

Nice To Haves

• Training in orthopedic care and manual therapy skills preferred
• Experience in a physician office or orthopedic setting preferred (new graduates must demonstrate superior ability to perform through a relevant clinical affiliation or experience)

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional patient care while implementing treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation.
• Educate patients and caregivers to promote successful outcomes.
• Communicate patient progress and any concerns with the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and compliance regulations.
• Stay current with continuing education requirements and actively pursue professional development opportunities.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, learning, and clinical excellence.
• Maintain proficiency with the therapy documentation system and other required software.
• Maintain an active Tennessee Physical Therapist Assistant license.
• Attend required CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, and other mandatory training sessions.
• Participate in staff meetings and departmental initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
