Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Current South Carolina Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in good standing
  • Must maintain all required continuing education requirements
  • Must remain in good standing with the applicable State Board
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills

  • Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred
  • Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) and Casamba preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Follow physician orders and individualized treatment plans
  • Document daily treatments, weekly progress notes, and resident outcomes accurately and timely
  • Participate in patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings as needed
  • Monitor resident progress and communicate updates to the Physical Therapist
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of therapy equipment and treatment areas
  • Train and assist Restorative Aides in carrying out therapy-related programs
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Participate in staff education and in-service training programs
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on maintenance programs and discharge recommendations
  • Report equipment concerns and assist in maintaining a safe therapy environment
  • Ensure compliance with all facility policies, state regulations, and payer requirements
