About The Position

Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing structured treatment of patients as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist. Provides group and/or individual treatments to a variety of diagnostic categories and ages. Requirements

  • Associate Degree or Certification of completion from an accredited Physical Therapy Assisting program.
  • Completion of specialized training and successful passing of PTA Boards.
  • Current Ohio PTA license.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Minimum of one clinical rotation in a Rehabilitation Services setting (e.g., Acute Rehab, SNF, Acute Medical, Outpatient, Home Health, and/or Behavioral Health).
  • Valid drivers license and proof of auto liability insurance (HomeCare).

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to deal with aggressive patients both physically and verbally (HomeCare requirement)
  • Employee may be required to travel to other floors, hospital locations, campuses, and/or to drive to other locations.
  • Must walk on uneven terrain; drive automobile and travel to multiple sites. (HomeCare Requirement)

Responsibilities

  • Reviews diagnostic data and its clinical relevance when treating patients and considers current presentation of past medical/clinical history.
  • Provides treatment interventions based on a treatment plan and goals established for the patient.
  • Monitors response/progress of assigned customers to treatment plan and discussed with PT plans needing adjustments as necessary to meet changing needs of the patient.
  • Initiates patient care activities in reasonable/timely manner and strictly adheres to department guidelines regarding a patient’s treatment schedule.
  • Ensures patient charges are accurately captured and submitted within 24 hours of treatment.
  • Completes documentation that is accurate, complete, timely, legible, and consistent with department documentation policies and regulatory agencies.
  • Completes program specialist competency/checklist of expectations, as appropriate to current position. (In-Patient and Work Hardening only).
  • Completes annual competencies as appropriate to position including age specific competencies.
  • Demonstrates willingness and competency to be cross-trained as appropriate to credentials, licensure, and scope of practice and department need.
  • Assists with orientation of new staff and/or students.
  • Performs other functions as assigned.
