About The Position

Trinity Health Oakland Hospital is seeking a part-time Physical Therapy Assistant for their Acute Care Physical Therapy department in Pontiac, MI. This is a contingent (non-benefitted) position that requires working at least one weekend day per month. The role involves carrying out therapeutic treatment programs as identified by a licensed physical therapist, modifying treatments based on patient progress, and maintaining documentation and patient billing.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited educational program by the APTA (Associates Degree Program) and licensure.
Current Michigan Licensure as Physical Therapy Assistant.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Implement therapeutic exercise programs as identified by the supervising physical therapist.
Identify age-related differences within the persons served and adjust treatment style and expectations as appropriate.
Make recommendations to the supervising physical therapist on treatment style alterations based upon the patient's cognitive function.
Maintain all necessary documentation as required by department policy.
Process patient billing as required by department.
Maintain compliance with reimbursement requirements and authorizations.
Meet productivity expectations as determined by management each fiscal year.
Initiate and encourage good communication and relationships with physical therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Build on existing skills and knowledge through continuing education.
Adhere to the code of ethics and all department and hospital policies and procedures.
Participate actively in the daily operations of the department and contribute to its compliance with regulations and customer service expectations.
