About The Position

Silver Lake Hospital of Newark, NJ is seeking to hire full-time Physical Therapy Assistants to assist with the delivery of physical therapy services for our long-term acute care patients. Our Physical Therapy Assistants works 8 hour shifts, Monday-Friday. ABOUT SILVER LAKE HOSPITAL Silver Lake Hospital is a long-term acute care hospital with a reputation of providing patients with a place to heal before heading home. A long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) is an acute care specialty hospital that provides highly advanced and focused care for higher acuity patients who have not responded to short-term treatment in traditional general hospitals. The average length of stay in an LTACH is 25 days as compared to a 3-5 day stay in a general hospital. Our safe and state of the art hospital is designed to admit and care for the most critically ill patients. POSITION SUMMARY The Physical Therapy Assistant provides services under the general supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. This position assists directly and indirectly with the delivery of physical therapy services to include transportation, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities as outlined by treatment plan and in accordance with state practice guidelines. This position does provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients.

Requirements

  • Valid NJ state license.
  • Degree from an approved curriculum for Physical Therapy Assistants.
  • Must be able to function with the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Must be flexible, possess personal integrity, and be able to work effectively with patients, personnel, and outside agencies.
  • Must be willing to assist in carrying out the objectives of the facility.
  • BLS certified required upon hire.
