About The Position

The Physical Therapy Assistant provides physical therapy treatment to patients under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with professional and organizational treatment standards. The role models behavior consistent with MLH’s Mission, Vision and Values and contributes to caring for the community through compassionate service and a focus on excellence.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy.
• Tennessee Physical Therapist Assistant license through the Tennessee Board of Physical Therapy.
• Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records.
• Ability to communicate treatment instructions and patient status verbally to Associates, physicians, patients, and patients’ family members.
• Ability to work without close supervision and exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of workflow.

Nice To Haves

• No prior work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement patient treatments based on assessment and under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Initiate patient and family teaching.
• Identify opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency.
