About The Position
Eastern Iowa Rehabilitation Hospital, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health and Mercy Health, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a PRN position in their Inpatient Rehabilitation unit. The hospital is committed to prioritizing employee well-being to enable exceptional patient care. This role involves implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient responses, documenting progress, educating patients and families, and assisting with discharge planning. The hospital is a 40-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation facility serving the Coralville, IA community and has received recognition for its quality of care.
Requirements
- Current state PTA license
- Associate's degree from an accredited PTA program
- CPR certification required

- Rehab or acute care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
- Seeks consultation as necessary.
- Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
- Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
- Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
- Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
- Assists with patient discharge planning.
- Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
