About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - Rehabilitation for a 13-week travel assignment in Lawton, OK. The Physical Therapy Assistant's primary function is to perform selected physical therapy procedures and related tasks under the direction and supervision of a registered Physical Therapist. The Assistant will treat patients with modalities and exercise in accordance with patient's medical needs and with an approved treatment plan and will understand their limitations as an assistant. The assistant will assist in maintaining the department in a neat and orderly manner. The assistant will complete all documentation of daily notes and discharge data. Patients cared for may include infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adult, and geriatric.

Requirements

  • Must have recent traveler experience
  • Must have 2 years inpatient rehab and PTA experience
  • Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during employment
  • Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect are required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and reliability
  • Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.
  • Drug screen and background check (facility required)
  • Additional facility onboarding forms as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Counsel patients and their families on what to do following treatment.
  • Observe the patients they are working with before, during and after therapy and report notes to the Physical Therapist.
  • Assign specific exercises for the patient and help the patients do these exercises.
  • Use devices, such as walkers, and other equipment to help patients regain movement and reduce pain.
  • Use a variety of techniques, including stretching exercises and massage, to treat patients.
  • Assist patients when moving to and from the therapy area.
  • Maintain the department in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Complete all documentation of daily notes and discharge data.
