About The Position

Starr Regional Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA) to join their team. This role is part of Lifepoint Health, a healthcare network focused on community well-being. The LPTA will implement treatment plans developed by a supervising therapist, monitor patient responses, communicate progress, document services, educate patients and families, and assist with discharge planning. The position is at Starr Regional Medical Center, a 118-bed acute hospital serving the Athens and Etowah, TN community for over 50 years.

Requirements

• Physical Therapy Assistant License
• Basic Life Support certification is required at the time of hire
• Associate’s degree Required
• Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
• Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
