About The Position

Starr Regional Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA) for an outpatient setting. This role involves providing 1:1 care and implementing treatment plans developed by a supervising therapist. The LPTA will monitor patient responses, communicate progress, document services, educate patients and families, and assist with discharge planning. Requirements

  • Physical Therapy Assistant License
  • Basic Life Support certification is required at the time of hire
  • Associate’s degree Required
  • Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required

Responsibilities

  • Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
  • Seeks consultation as necessary.
  • Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
  • Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
  • Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
  • Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
  • Assists with patient discharge planning.
  • Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
