About The Position

Plans and implements patient treatment programs based on physical therapy principles and practices. Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team members. Treats patients for neuromuscular and muscular-skeletal conditions and develops appropriate rehabilitation programs.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s/Technical Degree in exercise science or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Supports and stabilizes patients.
• Refers patients to assistant physical therapists or physical therapy assistants for treatments, tests and evaluations.
• Administers routine treatments, such as hydrotherapy, hot and cold packs, paraffin baths and exercises, as directed by physical therapists or physical therapy assistants.
• Secures patients into or onto therapy equipment.
• Delivers aquatic therapy and exercise classes, as directed by physical therapists.
• Documents patient treatment, response and goal progression.
• Documents application of therapeutic exercises and modalities.
• Transports patients to and from treatment area and transfers patients between conveyances and treatment equipment, using transfer techniques appropriate to patient conditions.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
