Therapy Aide -Full Time
About The Position
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation Cedar Park (East), TX is seeking a Full Time Outpatient Therapy Aide / Therapy Tech. Hours vary Monday to Friday from 7 am to 7 pm. Compensation depends on candidate's years of experience and internal equity, with a starting salary of $18 - $24 per hour based on experience. This role involves direct patient care tasks, including supervising patients, transferring patients, assisting patients to and from programming locations, performing light clerical tasks, and other duties as assigned. The position also includes infection control cleaning and maintenance of therapy equipment. A positive attitude, flexibility, and good communication skills are essential.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous tech experience preferred but not required.
- One or more years of hospital experience as therapy aide preferred.
- Strong preference will be placed on candidates in PT/OT school.
Responsibilities
- Supervise patients working on assigned tasks.
- Transfer patients.
- Help patients to and from different locations for programming.
- Perform light clerical tasks.
- Perform infection control cleaning.
- Perform maintenance of therapy equipment.
- Assist patients in the rehabilitation process through provision of requested activities.
- Drive routes.
- Assist clinicians for direct patient care (transferring, toileting).
- Assist front desk for light clerical tasks.
- Set up patients on therapeutic activities.
- Lead exercise groups.
- Identify and transport patients for care.
- Coordinate care between rehab and nursing floors.
- Perform patient related tasks assigned by therapist.
- Lift patients to/from mats, treatment and tilt tables, wheelchairs and other equipment.
- Assist patients with transfer activities to all surfaces.
- Assist patients in donning/doffing all appliances specific to the facility/department.
- Position patients in parallel bars and prepare patients for standing with appropriate orthotic/prosthetic devices and equipment.
- Transport patients to/from therapy as needed.
- Assist therapist with other patient related treatment activities and providing equipment.
- Assist with patient related activities including equipment set-up and patient positioning in preparation for therapy session.
