About The Position

SportsCare Physical Therapy is seeking a motivated and compassionate Physical Therapy Aide to support its clinical team and help provide high-quality patient care. The aide works directly with physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and patients, assisting with treatment and helping maintain a positive, supportive clinic environment.

The role includes supporting patients during therapy sessions, preparing and maintaining treatment areas and equipment, helping with patient education as directed by the clinical team, maintaining confidential patient records, and communicating with patients and colleagues to facilitate a smooth patient experience. The position is part-time and located in West Nyack, New York.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift and move equipment and assist patients as required.
• Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to patients during therapy sessions under the guidance of a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant, including assisting with exercises, equipment setup, and patient safety.
• Prepare treatment areas and equipment, keeping them clean, organized, and ready for patient use.
• Assist with patient education by explaining exercises, proper form, and treatment goals as directed by the clinical team.
• Clean and sanitize treatment areas, exercise equipment, and therapy rooms.
• Perform laundry duties, including washing and folding linens, towels, and other materials.
• Monitor and restock supplies as needed.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including tracking and documenting patient progress and adherence to exercise programs.
• Maintain therapy equipment and report equipment issues to appropriate staff.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physical therapists, and other team members.
