About The Position

Trinity Health Chelsea Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapy Aide for their Inpatient Rehab department in Chelsea, MI. This is a contingent, non-benefitted position with variable shifts, requiring weekend and holiday rotation. The aide will assist in preparing patients for treatments, transport patients to and from the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department, and perform routine tasks to support Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants.

Requirements

Minimum of high school education or GED.
CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Assists in preparing patients for various treatments.
Transports patient to and from the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department.
Performs routine tasks to free Registered Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants for attention to professional duties.
Maintains department cleanliness, including laundry.
Monitors, maintains, and disinfects equipment.
Monitors inventory and orders items as needed.
Creates copies and assembles forms and other materials.
Prepares for classes and treatments.
Delivers patient schedules and documentation forms to patient units.
Assists nursing staff with patient readiness for therapy.
Transports patients safely to and from therapy appointments, ensuring timely arrival or communicating reasons for lateness/absence.
Obtains necessary patient materials for therapy appointments.
Communicates changes in patients’ schedule/condition to nursing/therapy staff.
Arranges for and coordinates assistance for transportation if workload necessitates.
Assists with clerical and/or scheduling duties, including filing and revenue reconciliation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
