About The Position
A school district is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist to provide short-term FMLA coverage through January 2027. This position will work across the district with students of various ages and grade levels, with a particular focus on transition-aged students ages 18–22. This is a great opportunity for a PT with school-based or educational experience who enjoys working with students across a variety of ages and needs. The assignment is expected to continue through January to help the district address compensatory minutes.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
- Current IDFPR Physical Therapist License
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable working with students across a wide range of ages and needs
Nice To Haves
- School-based or educational experience preferred
- Experience working with transition-aged students is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services to students across the district
- Support students across a variety of grade levels and needs
- Work primarily with transition-aged students ages 18–22
- Provide services and support related to students' educational goals
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
- Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings as needed
- Help the district address compensatory service minutes
