About The Position

University Hospitals Rehabilitation Hospital, jointly operated with Lifepoint Health and University Hospitals, is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist for inpatient rehabilitation. The role provides individualized physical therapy care to patients, with the goal of maintaining, improving, or restoring physical functioning, alleviating pain, and preventing physical dysfunction. The therapist assesses patients, develops appropriate care plans in partnership with them, delivers therapy interventions, and supervises support personnel.

Requirements

• Hold a Physical Therapist license in the state of Ohio.
• Have critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ conditions.
• Establish an appropriate plan of care based on identified problems and involve patients according to their capabilities and desires.
• Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed physical treatment programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, and prevent physical dysfunction.
• Perform therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques and skills appropriate to each patient’s age and condition.
• Direct and supervise physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel; assess competence, delegate tasks, and establish communication channels.
