The Physical Therapist (PT) conducts assessments and reassessments of rehabilitation needs and potential. The PT also plans, implements, and supervises therapeutic programs which include therapeutic exercises, gait training, range of motion testing and exercise, maintenance therapies, heat treatments, baths, and other activities normally performed by a physical therapist. The role involves conducting patient assessments, planning and implementing individualized therapeutic programs, coordinating with the Rehab Director, guiding patients in exercises, observing and documenting patient reactions, instructing family members and agency personnel, participating in case conferences, and contributing to the agency's quality assurance program. The position also includes supervising Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and potentially participating in wound care. The role requires the ability to work a minimum of eight hours per day, involving driving, standing, sitting, assisting patients, writing, and speaking, with sight and hearing sufficient to comprehend communication.
