About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Physical Therapist provides compassionate treatment to patients during recovery and contributes to their care throughout their hospital stay. The role involves assessing patients, setting goals, developing and carrying out treatment plans, monitoring and adapting therapy, educating patients and families, and contributing to discharge planning. The Physical Therapist works collaboratively with the care team and facility, supervises Physical Therapy Assistants and PT/PTA students, and completes documentation in accordance with department policies and procedures. This is a full-time, weekday position at Select Specialty Hospital – Columbus – Vic Village (Dennison Ave). Compensation is $31–$54 per hour, depending on years of experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for full-time employment.

Requirements

Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
Certified BLS or completion of BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
Promote continuous quality improvement.
Teach and counsel patients and families.
Set goals and develop treatment plans.
Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and PT and PTA students.
Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and modify treatment during sessions as needed.
Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
