The Physical Therapist will adhere to general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care assessment and treatment, ensuring evaluations and treatments are functional and according to the Standard of Practice. The therapist will use sound professional judgment in interpreting evaluation results and establishing treatment plans with realistic goals, encouraging patients and significant others in goal setting. They will recognize and respond to changes in the patient's physiologic state, recommend the next level of care, and ensure quality patient outcomes. Supervision of support staff assisting with patient care, including providing direction and feedback, is also a key responsibility. The role requires maintaining accurate documentation, meeting department financial and productivity standards, and participating in process management to optimize quality and efficiency of services. Additionally, the Physical Therapist will promote professional development and education of other healthcare workers and provide representation on committees, while communicating effectively and professionally with patients, physicians, staff, and external customers. The position also requires providing appropriate patient care in accordance with age/developmental guidelines.
