About The Position

The Physical Therapist provides direct inpatient patient care and develops plans to accomplish treatment goals. The role requires thoroughness, reliability, and analytical judgment guided by available evidence in patient care and documentation. The Physical Therapist coordinates assigned patient loads and the workload of patient-care support personnel, participates in clinical education for students from affiliated universities, and participates in the Quality Management program while attaining required procedural competencies.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited university program in Physical Therapy.
• Indiana licensure, or eligibility for state licensure within 180 days.
• Current CPR certification and BLS Course C (Basic Life Support).
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with frequent interruptions.
• Demonstrated self-assessment, initiative, and ability to work collaboratively on a team.
• Customer-service orientation and ability to communicate and listen effectively.
• Flexibility and ability to accept change.
• Basic understanding of federal and state regulations regarding billing, compliance, documentation, and supervision of support staff as they relate to the practice of the relevant discipline.
• Maintain knowledge of professional practice issues and changes locally and nationally.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate physician referrals to determine physical therapy treatment, goals, plans, and patient education.
• Assess progress toward goals and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
• Review patients’ medication lists, allergies, and medical and surgical histories.
• Coordinate assigned patient loads and the workload of patient-care support personnel.
• Participate in clinical education for students from affiliated universities.
• Participate in the Quality Management program and attain required procedural competencies.
