About The Position

Physical Therapist (P.T.) for a Sports Medicine/Orthopedic clinic. This is a part-time position, 24 hours per week, with flexible scheduling between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, excluding weekends and federal holidays. The role is located at Texas Health Southwest – Fitness Center in Fort Worth, TX. The department focuses on Orthopedics/Joint replacement (knees, hips, total joints) and works with high school and weekend athletes, as well as post-operative hip and knee patients, and some spine patients. The clinic is embedded within a fitness center and boasts an experienced team with high engagement and safety scores. The facility is Magnet designated.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Physical Therapy program upon hire Required.
No experience necessary, however prefer 1 year prior Physical Therapy experience.
PT - Physical Therapist Texas Physical Therapy License Upon Hire Required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.
Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

1 year prior Physical Therapy experience

Responsibilities

Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel.
Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
