About The Position

Texas Health is seeking a Physical Therapist (P.T.) for their Acute Care PRN position at Texas Health Ft. Worth. This role supports a 815-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital that has served the Ft. Worth and surrounding community since 1930. The hospital is a Level I trauma center and Comprehensive Stroke center with specialized programs including Advanced Total Hip and Knee Programs, a BRAIN tumor program, Spine surgery certification, Primary heart attack center, Geriatric hip fracture program, and Neurotrauma program certification. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree completion of a Physical Therapist program required.
• PT - Physical Therapist Texas - Physical Therapy License Upon Hire Required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Problem-solving ability, Ability to teach others and Time management skills.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills

Nice To Haves

• Acute care experience preferred, but New Grads are welcome!
• Geriatric Clinical Specialists (ABPTS)
• Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (ABPTS)
• Wound Management Clinical Specialist (ABPTS)
• Certified lymphedema therapists
• Certified hand therapists

Responsibilities

• Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
• Performs treatment procedures/techniques that are within the scope of the professional license.
• Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
• Initiates therapy discharge planning in collaboration with care team and patient based on prognosis and expected discharge disposition.
• Attends and/or leads hospital, department, and community meetings / educational in-services.
• Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration
