About The Position

Nemours Children’s Health is hiring a Full-Time, Physical Therapist to join our team in Milford, Delaware. This is a great opportunity to grow your career and join a dynamic team in our multi-disciplinary clinic shared with Nemours Specialty and Primary Care. We provide evaluation and treatment for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses including post-op, sports injuries, and neurodevelopmental disorders, and ranging in age from birth to 18. We are also an early intervention partner with Birth to Three program, providing clinic-based services. Provides physical therapy patient examination, evaluation, intervention, documentation, parent/caregiver education, communication and coordination of care with medical/clinical staff and outside agencies as appropriate within the guidelines designated by the department and the Delaware Valley policies and procedures. Demonstrates competency in pediatric physical therapy as per department clinical competencies.

Requirements

Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy or its equivalent from an CAPTE accredited university required.
Minimum of three (3) to six (6) months experience required.
State of Delaware Physical Therapist License or provisional/temporary license required upon hire.
Compact licensure is acceptable for primary and secondary licensure when the practitioner is eligible and maintains an active home-state license in a Compact state.
All clinical staff are required to hold a second license in Maryland (in addition to DE license).
Must submit license or proof of application submission within 2 weeks of job acceptance, but this second license is not required to be active at the start of employment.
Pennsylvania clearances are required upon hire for those with a Pennsylvania license.
American Heart Association BLS certification required within 6 months of date of hire and must be maintained for duration of employment.

Member of professional specialty organizations (APTA, state PT association) preferred.
Pediatric experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all patients birth-18
Able to provide physical therapy services to a variety of patient types with recognition of his/her own limitations while seeking appropriate mentorship as needed.
Completes timely documentation as required by departmental policy #7980.3.3, Joint Commission, and CARF standards.
Attends meetings related to patient treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member.
Consults with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend durable medical equipment, home/school modifications and transitional therapy program prior to discharge from therapy.
Maintains knowledge of and familiarity with insurance referral/authorization process and documentation requirements related to therapy services.
