About The Position

The Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist (PT) provides physical therapy to patients needing Pelvic Floor PT as directed by the supervising physician. This role focuses on the prevention and treatment of functional disorders of the abdominal, pelvic, and low back region. The therapist will provide high-quality patient treatment, including evaluation, treatment planning and implementation, patient/family education, safety procedures, and communication with relevant parties. Documentation must be completed in a timely manner. The therapist will operate equipment related to patient care, direct and aid patients in mobility and strengthening exercises, and assess treatment progress, altering plans as necessary. Detailed explanations and clear communication with patients are essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years in Pelvic Floor rehabilitation
  • 2 years experience in outpatient setting
  • Minimum Pelvic Floor 1 through APTA PA
  • Licensed Physical Therapist
  • Strong Manual Skills a MUST
  • Masters or DPT
  • Willingness to work in collaboration with Providers
  • Respect for each other

  • Adherence to evidence based practice
  • Competent in time management, problem solving, crisis intervention and multi-tasking
  • Complex problem solving using multiple resources in a manner appropriate to the situation
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using a computer, email, and office programs
  • A Masters degree, graduate of an appropriate and accredited Physical Therapy program, certification by the American Board of Physical Therapists, and an active state license.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for patient caseload consisting of but not limited to pre-natal and post-partum diagnoses, pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, colorectal conditions/chronic constipation, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, and diastasis recti management.
  • Focuses on the prevention and treatment of functional disorders of the abdominal, pelvic and low back region.
  • Provides high quality patient treatment including evaluation, treatment planning and implementation, patient/family education and instruction, provision of safety procedures, and communication with those indicated given the patient.
  • Completes documentation in a timely manner.
  • Operates equipment related to patient care including electrical stimulation units.
  • Directs and aids the patient in mobility and strengthening exercises, muscle re-education, and functional training.
  • Treat the patient based on acceptable standards of care in womens health.
  • Assess the progress of treatment and altar plan as necessary.
  • Document the encounter in the medical record including dictating or writing progress notes, history and physicals, discharge summaries and other necessary documentation.
  • Provide detailed explanations to patients and clearly communicate via e-mail, in person, and over the phone.
  • Consistently demonstrates internal and external quality customer service standards to all that request assistance, responding in a professional manner.
