About The Position

Avita Health System is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join their Inpatient/Acute Care Therapy Department at Avita Galion Hospital. The role involves evaluating, planning, directing, and administering physical therapy treatments as prescribed by a physician to restore function and prevent disability. The Physical Therapist will assist patients in reaching their maximum performance level, coordinate and supervise supportive staff (LPTA and Therapy Aide), and participate in the interdisciplinary treatment team. Responsibilities also include assisting with operational activities such as budget control, performance improvement, and department safety oversight.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program and possess a bachelor’s degree, or higher, in physical therapy.
  • Must be licensed to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Ohio.
  • Current BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation, planning, directing and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician.
  • Administering treatments and physical agents as prescribed in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability.
  • Assisting patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
  • Coordinating, delegating and supervising responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (LPTA and Therapy Aide).
  • Participating as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team in planning and implementing the patient plan of care.
  • Assisting with operational activities including budget control, performance improvement, and infection control and department safety oversight.
