About The Position

UF Health Shands Rehab Services is dedicated to providing excellent patient care to individuals throughout north central Florida. Through comprehensive rehabilitation programs, we hope to create a safe and comfortable environment that empowers individuals to manage their care independently, return to a functional lifestyle and improve their quality of life. We are dedicated to treating our patients with compassion, creativity, respect and confidentiality. Our rehab centers accomplish this with close working relationships between our referring physicians, therapists, support staff, University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions and the University of Florida Athletics Program. Our therapists provide rehabilitation services and education to patients. Our therapy staff is equipped to educate other health professionals and students about rehabilitation. Pediatric Rehab is a comprehensive facility providing occupational, physical and speech therapy services for children from birth to age 21. Our staff is trained to serve all rehab needs for children. We work with specialty physician clinics, community physicians, ancillary services (such as psychiatry, nutrition, etc.) and school systems to provide care for the children of our surrounding communities. Our therapists collaborate in research that leads to improved care and quality of life for those living with pediatric conditions.

Requirements

Bachelors in a Rehab Therapy
No previous clinical experience necessary
Demonstrates knowledge and skill in a broad range of therapy services and settings
Demonstrates strong communication skills
Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Florida
Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver'

Responsibilities

Provides therapy services and education to patients.
Contributes to the education and professional development of other healthcare providers and students in the field of rehabilitation.
