About The Position

The Physical Therapist will assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. This role involves providing direct patient care, evaluating functional needs and outcomes, and consulting with other specialists. The Physical Therapist will design and implement a plan of care for patients based on a thorough assessment of potential development and incorporate participation by significant others whenever it seems appropriate. Therapy practice will be conducted within defined standards of care, and the therapist will direct the assistance of support staff to achieve patients’ functional goals. Effective communication with other professional and support staff is essential for positive patient outcomes. The role requires adherence to facility and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Documentation of evaluations, treatment goals, and plans, along with regular updates and maintenance of prescriptions and signatures, is crucial. Enhancing professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops, and staying current with professional literature are also key aspects. The Physical Therapist will provide direction and leadership to staff and act as a resource to promote physical therapy in the community.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) approved physical therapy program.
  • Experience performing the essential functions of the position is desirable.
  • Florida Physical Therapist (PT) license in good standing is required.
  • Candidates are required to attain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days after hire.
  • State background check standards must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.
  • Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations
