Requirements
- Degree in area of discipline
- Current Physical Therapy license in state of practice, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment
- Excellent interpersonal, fiscal, and clinical skills
- Computer proficiency
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services to patients according to physician's plan of care and as defined in the state Physical Therapy Practice Act.
- Assess and evaluate therapeutic, rehabilitative/functional status to develop, implement and direct physical therapy programs that focus on rehabilitation.
- Evaluate the patient’s home environment, assess patients for muscle strength, mobility, gait, ROM potential for rehab.
- Direct patients and families/caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic appliances.
- Initiate physical therapy program and instruct other personnel and/or family/caregiver members in certain phases of physical therapy with which they may work with a patient.
- Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for other home health (PCA) services and refer as necessary.
- Prepare and submit progress summaries based on the attainment of goals.
- Supervises PTAs according to organization policy and state regulations.
