About The Position

The Physical Therapist Float provides rehabilitative services to disabled, injured, and diseased patients within Concentra centers. The role follows Concentra Medical Centers’ Injury Process Management approach and rehabilitation philosophy in occupational medicine, along with applicable policies, practices, and regulations. The therapist plans and delivers individualized treatment, coordinates care with physicians and other team members, documents patient progress, and supports high-quality patient care and rehabilitation outcomes. Duties may change at any time with or without notice.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with employers, patients, providers, and other employees.
• Ability to maintain working relationships with employees at all levels.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact tactfully and professionally.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information, including HIPAA and PHI, in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
• Willingness to participate in initial and ongoing training as required.
• Demonstrated computer skills.
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions for maintaining a safe medical work environment.
• Skill in developing and maintaining patient care records and writing reports.
• Skill in time management, planning, and workload control.
• Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions.
• Skill in developing and maintaining medical quality assurance and quality control standards.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with management, patients, medical staff, and the general public.
• Successful completion of orientation and training, and demonstrated competency in required physical therapy tasks.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Outpatient orthopedic experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services.
• Provide direct patient care, including evaluating muscle, skeletal, neurological, and other physical problems.
• Support and encourage multidisciplinary coordination of treatment.
• Maintain proper documentation of patient care and follow appropriate reporting procedures.
• Comply with quality assurance policies and procedures, applicable regulations, and corporate policies.
• Communicate effectively with staff, medical personnel, and patients to coordinate care and provide high-quality service.
• Use effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities; inform the Administrator of department problems, needs, and solutions in a timely manner.
• Plan, design, implement, and interpret physical therapy treatment programs that support patient recovery and maximum physical potential.
• Educate patients on the proper care and use of supports and on exercise programs.
• Perform or delegate patient treatments, including modalities, therapeutic exercises, gait training, and hydrotherapy.
• Secure a prescription for each patient treated.
• Work closely with physicians to support comprehensive service delivery and quality patient care.
• Assist marketing staff with tours as necessary.
• Take precautions to protect center assets and property from loss or waste caused by negligence or dishonesty.
• Participate in professional development, including center meetings and outside educational seminars.
• Communicate with the Outcome Assurance Injury Coordinator or Case Manager about each patient’s objective progress, program and attendance compliance, and estimated time until discharge from therapy.
• Participate in clinical instruction of university occupational therapy and/or occupational therapist assistant students.
• Participate in evaluating rehabilitation quality-management effectiveness and assist with developing improved processes.
• Ensure compliance with rules and regulations established by relevant licensing, certification, and accrediting bodies.
• Complete orientation and training and demonstrate competency in required physical therapy tasks.
