About The Position

We are seeking a Physical Therapist to join our team. This position offers flexible scheduling with both full-time and part-time options available. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for full-time hires. The role involves assessing patient conditions, establishing treatment goals and care plans in collaboration with physicians and patients/families, and ensuring interdisciplinary treatment is performed. The Physical Therapist will document findings, educate patients and families, and serve as an information resource. This role also includes supervising Physical Therapy Assistants and Technicians, providing ongoing education to staff, and assisting the director with patient care issues. Maintaining patient confidentiality and demonstrating current competencies are essential.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree
  • Current certification as a physical therapist
  • Current Florida state license
  • Two years of experience in an out-patient physical therapy clinic
  • Knowledge of physical therapy principles, standards, and applications.
  • Knowledge of clinic policies, procedures, regulations, safety/infection control, quality control.
  • Knowledge of how to use physical therapy equipment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Skill in appropriate evaluation and treatment of patients.
  • Skill in effectively communicating with in-house as well as external physicians and referral sources.
  • Skill in using a computer system/EMR to accurately reproduce all appropriate documentation.
  • Skill in accurate recognition of patient/clinic danger and appropriate fall risk patients.
  • Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor physical therapy staff.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to be a resource to patients and staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with orthopedics is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient condition, establishes goals, treatments, and care plans in conjunction with the physician, patient/family.
  • Ensures that appropriate treatment is performed in an interdisciplinary fashion, consulting with physicians about the impact of physical therapy factors on the patient’s health status.
  • Documents findings, treatments, and other patient information for the medical record.
  • Educates patient/family on appropriate care and use of various therapies/exercises.
  • Serves as information/education resource for patients, families, and staff.
  • Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Technicians.
  • Serves as a resource to Physical Therapy staff.
  • Provides ongoing education to the Physical Therapy staff.
  • Assists the director with patient care issues.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates current competencies for the job position.
