About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Northern Kentucky is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. The Physical Therapist provides compassionate treatment to patients during their recovery. This per-diem, as-needed position is located inside St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, and pays $53.00 per hour.

The hospital provides an extensive orientation program to support the transition into the setting. The role may offer the opportunity to be considered for a future full-time position. Part-time and per-diem employees are eligible for a 401(k) after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• Certified BLS or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Set goals and develop treatment plans.
• Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
• Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and PT and PTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patients' responses to treatment and modify treatment during sessions as needed.
• Complete documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
