About The Position
Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital that provides inpatient post-ICU care to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Physical Therapists provide compassionate treatment and support patients throughout recovery. This per-diem position is based in Davenport, Iowa, and offers an as-needed, flexible schedule. The hospital provides an extensive orientation program, and the role may offer potential opportunities to move into full-time employment.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Certified BLS or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
- Promote continuous quality improvement.
- Teach and counsel patients and families.
- Set goals and develop treatment plans.
- Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
- Participate in discharge planning, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and PT and PTA students.
- Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and modify treatment during sessions as needed.
- Complete documentation according to department policies and procedures.
- Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
