Physical Therapist 13 Week Assignment
About The Position
Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. The Per Diem Physical Therapist provides skilled physical therapy services to patients in their homes to promote mobility, restore function, improve strength and balance, and enhance safety and independence. The therapist works collaboratively with patients, caregivers, and an interdisciplinary care team to support recovery, prevent hospitalizations, and improve quality of life in the home setting. This is described as a 13-week temporary assignment, with a Monday-through-Friday schedule from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The role’s compensation includes per-visit-point pay for visits and hourly pay for certain non-visit activities. The stated annual total cash target assumes full-time employment at 40 hours per week and full productivity.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited physical therapy educational program as set by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- Hold a current physical therapy license specific to the state assigned.
- Hold current CPR certification.
- Have at least 1 year of related physical therapy experience when entering home health care. Applicants with less than 1 year of experience require approval from regional clinical leaders and appropriate mentoring and/or participation in a residency program.
- Pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Responsibilities
- Help patients maintain, restore, and improve movement, activity, and function.
- Provide interventions, conduct reexaminations at least every 30 days, modify interventions as necessary, and perform discharge planning.
