About The Position

This position demonstrates advanced clinical skills in evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized Physical Therapy treatment plans. The role involves mentorship, interdisciplinary collaboration, and education. Responsibilities include interpreting complex provider referrals, evaluating patients, identifying functional limitations, and formulating individualized treatment plans with regular assessment of progress. The Physical Therapist ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, educates patients and families, and coordinates with other healthcare professionals. Active participation in departmental meetings, service line rounds, journal clubs, or discharge planning is expected. The role also includes serving as a preceptor and mentor to new team members and supporting educational initiatives within the enterprise, department, and student programming.

Requirements

Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (graduates pre 2020 may have a Bachelor's or a Master's degree) or equivalent degree for foreign graduates.
At least 3 years of experience required.
Current license from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Physical Therapist OR possess a valid Physical Therapy Compact Privilege in accordance with Physical Therapy Compact Commission (PTCC) and Oklahoma state regulations.
Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Advanced knowledge of equipment, supplies, Home Exercise Programs (HEP), and discharge instructions to facilitate a safe discharge plan.
Synthesizes information from multiple sources, recognizing patterns and clinical complexities.
Communicates effectively and compassionately with patients and caregivers, considering cultural and language needs.
Ability to establish and integrity and trust with patients by advocating in the patient’s best interest.
Advanced written and oral communication skills characterized by candor, empathy, compassion, openness, integrity, and ability to be diplomatic.
Demonstrates autonomy and effective teamwork while maintaining professionalism and civility.
Advanced proficiency in electronic documentation and digital tools (e.g., EMR, Microsoft Office, cloud-based platforms).

Responsibilities

Interprets complex provider referrals, evaluates patients, identifies functional limitations, and formulates individualized treatment plans with regular assessment of progress.
Ensures compliance with system-wide, local, state, and federal regulatory requirements by applying relevant standards and best practices.
Educates patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, and strategies for home management.
Coordinates collaboration with other healthcare professionals as needed to provide comprehensive care.
Actively participates in departmental meetings and demonstrates engagement in service line rounds, journal clubs, or discharge planning.
Serves as a preceptor and mentor to new team members as needed.
Supports educational initiatives within the enterprise, department, and student programming, including but not limited to training opportunities, presentations, student project development, and serving as a secondary Clinical Educator in the absence of the primary Clinical Educator.
Performs other duties as assigned.
