About The Position

Physical Therapist (PT) - Sports Medicine Full-time. Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Sports Medicine - Ft. Worth, 800 5th Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104. Sports Medicine department. Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Thursday 7:00AM-6:00PM and Friday 7:00AM-4:00PM, no weekends, schedule varies. Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Physical Therapy upon hire Required Or Master's degree Physical Therapy upon hire Required Or Other Doctorate Physical Therapy upon hire Required.
Two (2) years prior experience Or Residency-trained strongly preferred.
PT - Physical Therapist Texas - Physical Therapy License Upon Hire Required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Problem-solving ability, Ability to teach others and Time management skills.
Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills

Nice To Haves

Sports Certified Specialists (ABPTS), Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (ABPTS), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist - CSCS (NSCA)

Responsibilities

Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
Performs treatment procedures/techniques that are within the scope of the professional license.
Educate patients and families through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
Initiates therapy discharge planning in collaboration with care team and patient based on prognosis and expected discharge disposition.
Attends and/or leads hospital, department, and community meetings / educational in-services.
Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration with local athletic trainers and physicians.
