About The Position

Physical Therapist (PT) - Sports Medicine Full-time. Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Sports Medicine - Ft. Worth, 800 5th Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104. Sports Medicine department. Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Thursday 7:00AM-6:00PM and Friday 7:00AM-4:00PM, no weekends, schedule varies. Sports Medicine department highlights: A rewarding career with family-friendly hours. Work with patients who are recreationally active or participate in athletics. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Physical Therapy upon hire Required Or Master's degree Physical Therapy upon hire Required Or Other Doctorate Physical Therapy upon hire Required.
  • Two (2) years prior experience Or Residency-trained strongly preferred.
  • PT - Physical Therapist Texas - Physical Therapy License Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Problem-solving ability, Ability to teach others and Time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Sports Certified Specialists (ABPTS), Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (ABPTS), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist - CSCS (NSCA)

Responsibilities

  • Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
  • Performs treatment procedures/techniques that are within the scope of the professional license.
  • Educate patients and families through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
  • Initiates therapy discharge planning in collaboration with care team and patient based on prognosis and expected discharge disposition.
  • Attends and/or leads hospital, department, and community meetings / educational in-services.
  • Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration with local athletic trainers and physicians.
