About The Position

Reporting to the Rehab Services Director, the Inpatient Rehab Therapy Supervisor plans, organizes and supervises, the ARU PT/OT/ST as well as the inpatient hospital assistants and PTAs. Ensures that all budgetary, productivity, customer service and quality standards and measures are met. Develops and implements all aspects of new and existing ARU programs. Duties also include the supervision of staff and providing clinical leadership and expertise to the department. Works in collaboration with all members of the rehab services team including assisting with administrative, teaching and research functions of the department. Participates in special projects and Performance Improvement programs as assigned. Attend case conferences/ discharge rounds as needed. Delivers direct patient care on a limited basis as required. If assigned to work with infants and children aged 0 to 21, CCS paneling/approval will be required within one year of hire if qualify for CCS paneling requirement. Attends discharge planning meeting for children with discharge needs applicable to the discipline. Assures that the non-CCS paneled therapists will be supervised by a CCS paneled therapist for the care provided to children aged 0-21. Participates in care coordination activities when children are being discharge with therapy and coordinates the transfer of care to the CCS Medical Therapy Units in the school system as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Physical Therapy, Occupational, or Speech Therapy, including 5 years of experience in a hospital setting.
  • Licensure to practice as a Therapist or proof of eligibility from the respective California Board.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.
