About The Position

The Physical Therapist Resident/Fellow is primarily responsible for the delivery of physical therapy care to the patient population to which he/she is assigned and the recording of that care in the hospital medical record, as part of a post-graduate physical therapy program. The therapist acts as a consultant to various patient clinics, provides instruction to PT support staff, students, personnel of other disciplines within VCUHS, and patient and/or family members. Therapists may rotate through our various clinical service areas.

Requirements

  • Current license as a Physical Therapist by the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy
  • Employee is a member of a self-directed team and applies their knowledge and experience in daily clinic problem solving.
  • Employee is expected to share in weekend and holiday schedule expectations of the department or have a fluctuation of daily working hours from 8am to 7pm based on patient population needs.
