ESY Physical Therapist (PT)
About The Position
PRO Pediatric Services is seeking an exceptional Physical Therapist (PT) to provide services within a local intermediate unit for Extending School Year (ESY). This position will be part-time for ESY, with K-12, school-based caseload. The role involves implementing specialized therapy treatment in accordance with the student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP), administering physical therapy assessments, analyzing and interpreting assessment data, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The Physical Therapist will also serve as a member of the school's multidisciplinary team and IEP program team, offering consultation and collaboration with school staff and parents. Completing and maintaining required documentation is also a key responsibility.
Requirements
- Must have all clearances updated within the year
- Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university
- Active Pennsylvania Physical Therapy License
- Must have at least 1 year consecutive experience treating children and/or adolescents in an educational setting
- Must be comfortable using a computer
- Must be able to complete clinical documentation to school district standards
- Current clearances (within 6 months)
Responsibilities
- Implement specialized therapy treatment in accordance with the student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Administers physical therapy assessments to determine a student’s level of functioning relative to their age and educational placement in a variety of areas.
- Analyze and interpret assessment data and facilitate the use of the data as a guide for operative instruction to improve student skills.
- Collaborates alongside a multidisciplinary team including special education staff, classroom teachers, and other service providers to ensure continuity and consistency in providing comprehensive services to students.
- Serves as a member of the school’s multidisciplinary team, IEP program team, and offer consultation and collaboration with school staff and parents in support of student’s goals
- Completes, updates, and maintains required documentation
- Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
