About The Position
OakMed Home Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking licensed Physical Therapist Assistants to provide one-on-one, home-based care to automobile accident and workers’ compensation patients throughout West Michigan, including the Grand Rapids area. PTAs may supplement current employment, take on additional visits, or build a caseload around their availability. Scheduling is flexible, and opportunities to work closer to home depend on case availability and service areas. Compensation is $60 per visit, with weekly pay.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of Michigan.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned patient homes.
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently within the PTA scope of practice and applicable supervision requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of the supervising Physical Therapist, as required.
- Carry out assigned treatment activities consistent with the established plan of care.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Document visits and patient progress accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
- Follow applicable professional standards, supervision requirements, and organizational policies.
