About The Position

Seaport Scripps Home Health, a Scripps Health joint venture, is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for their Home Health team serving San Diego County. This role involves providing in-home physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s Plan of Care (POC). The PTA will assist patients with mobility, strength, pain management, and range of motion exercises, implement therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training, and utilize various physical agents. Patient education on assistive devices and monitoring/reporting patient progress are also key responsibilities. The position offers the opportunity to work independently and make a difference in the community.

Requirements

Active California PTA license
Minimum 2 years of patient care experience
Current CPR certification
Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle
Strong communication and organizational skills

Home Health experience preferred

Responsibilities

Provide in-home physical therapy under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s Plan of Care (POC).
Assist patients with mobility, strength, pain management, and range of motion exercises.
Implement therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training.
Utilize physical agents such as heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage.
Educate patients on the use of assistive devices (wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, prosthetics).
Monitor and report patient progress and changes in condition.
