About The Position

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), under the direction of a Physical Therapist, provides therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position’s qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards. The position is based at Harbor Terrace Senior Living in Muskegon, Michigan. State law requires a criminal record check as a condition of employment.

Requirements

Current, valid state PTA licensure or certification, which must be maintained.
Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program.
0–1 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

Current valid CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Implement treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities such as heat, cold, and electrical stimulation.
Observe patient responses to therapy, document progress, and report findings and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy and progress.
Instruct patients and their families on exercise techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to support continued progress at home.
Support Physical Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress by providing observations and insights.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Perform other duties as assigned.
