About The Position

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will conduct medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist. This role involves providing physical therapy interventions as part of a plan of care written by a physical therapist, utilizing appropriate techniques for the patient population, and documenting all treatment interventions. The PTA may also coordinate the activities of physical therapy aides, students, and other support personnel.

Requirements

  • Currently licensed, eligible to be licensed or having a temporary license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) according to the rules and regulations of the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy required.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Physical Therapy Program required.
  • Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist.
  • Provide physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.
  • Perform therapy interventions utilizing techniques and skills as appropriate for the patient population.
  • Document treatment interventions given.
  • May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students and other support personnel.
