Physical Therapist Assistant - PTA (Part Time)
About The Position
Choice Health at Home provides home health, hospice, personal care, and rehabilitation services, helping patients receive care in the comfort of their homes. Founded in 2007 by David Jackson, a licensed Physical Therapist, the company’s mission centers on improving patients’ lives through excellent healthcare. The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) supports licensed physical therapists in delivering rehabilitative care to patients recovering from injury or surgery, or managing chronic conditions. The PTA implements treatment plans designed by physical therapists, monitors patient progress, and adjusts therapeutic activities to support recovery. The role works with patients to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and specialized equipment. Communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team supports coordinated care and patient education. The PTA contributes to patients’ quality of life by helping them return to daily activities and greater independence in their homes.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited physical therapy program and state licensure exam.
- Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- AHA CPR certification.
- Valid auto insurance.
Nice To Haves
- One year of home health experience preferred.
- HomeCare HomeBase experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in executing individualized treatment plans for patients with musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation under the supervision of a physical therapist.
- Monitor and document patient responses to treatment, reporting progress and concerns to the supervising physical therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, proper use of assistive devices, and strategies to prevent injury or re-injury.
- Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment, ensuring equipment is sanitized and in good working order.
