About The Position

Moore County Hospital District (MCHD) is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our award-winning team. The PTA is responsible for implementing treatment plans as documented by a licensed physical therapist, ensuring compliance with the Texas State Board of Physical Therapy practice act, regulatory agencies, payer guidelines, and MCHD policies. This role involves providing optimal patient care in a safe and appropriate manner, accurate documentation, and collaborative interdisciplinary care. Secondary responsibilities include assisting with department functions such as quality control, performance improvement, staff development, and compliance processes. The PTA will be assigned to varied work schedules and locations, potentially including hospital-based programs (outpatient wound, inpatient acute, outpatient nursing home, extended care), outpatient clinic programs (adult and pediatric musculoskeletal and neurological), home health, and school-based contract services. Flexibility and competency development in all areas within the scope of services are expected. Patient care must be age-appropriate and diagnostic appropriate, including supervision of non-skilled personnel and communication with external care providers. Accurate and timely documentation for billing purposes is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant.
Current Physical Therapist Assistant License in Texas.

Responsibilities

Implement treatment plans as documented in a written treatment plan by the licensed physical therapist.
Maintain compliance with the practice act of Texas State Board of Physical Therapy, regulatory agencies, payer guidelines, and policies and procedures of the department.
Provide optimal patient care in a safe and appropriate manner.
Ensure accurate and complete documentation.
Engage in interdisciplinary collaborative care.
Function cooperatively within the department and the hospital district.
Assist with all other aspects of department function when primary responsibilities have been completed, including participation in quality control, performance improvement processes, staff development, compliance processes, program development, and assistance to other staff members.
Provide patient care in a safe, appropriate manner based on the written treatment plan by the licensed physical therapist.
Ensure all treatment and interaction is age appropriate and diagnostic appropriate in compliance with practice act, regulatory agencies, payer guidelines, and policies and procedures of MCHD and the department.
Collaborate with other staff and other care providers and patient education are included in the continuum of care.
Provide appropriate supervision of non-skilled personnel who participate in the patient’s care.
Maintain contact within and outside of the hospital system in regard to the patient’s status and care.
Accurately bill patient services by documenting only the services received in compliance with the practice act, regulatory agencies, and payer guidelines.
Ensure documentation is complete, timely, concise, and accurate in compliance with the policies and procedures of the MCHD and the department.
