We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join a dedicated skilled nursing facility in San Jose, CA. Details of the role: Anticipated start date: Flexible Salary range: Up to $2,052 weekly Anticipated duration of contract: 13 weeks

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Active California PTA license
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Provide therapeutic exercises, transfer training, gait training, and mobility interventions
  • Assist patients with early mobilization following surgery, illness, or injury
  • Monitor vital signs and patient response to activity, reporting changes to the PT and medical team
  • Support safe patient handling and use of assistive devices
  • Document treatments and patient progress accurately and in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with nursing, case management, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Educate patients and families on mobility techniques and discharge recommendations
  • Maintain infection control and hospital safety standards
  • Assist with discharge planning to ensure safe transitions of care
