About The Position

Christie Clinic's department of Physical Therapy is seeking a part-time (18 hours/week) Physical Therapist Assistant at the Fields clinic with varied hours between Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements. Duties include assisting Physical Therapist with specific physical therapy plan of care for patients.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Graduation of an approved School of Physical Therapist Assistants
License to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant
CPR Certification

Responsibilities

Perform treatments per Physical Therapist plan of care.
Direct and assist patients in therapeutic exercise, muscle re-education, therapeutic activities, and gait training per Physical Therapist plan of care.
Administer therapeutic modalities as directed by Physical Therapist.
Participate in coordination and communication of relevant patient information with the Physical Therapist and medical staff as needed.
Instruct patients in proper care and use of support and exercise programs.
Chart and report on patients' progress in timely fashion and per department standards.
Select most appropriate billing codes.
Demonstrate understanding of insurance rules/regulations and billing practices.
Prepare written documentation, as directed by the Physical Therapist.
Maintain department policies, procedures, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control.
Participate in clinical education programs.
Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Maintain department in clean and orderly fashion.
Perform related work as required.
