About The Position
Elara Caring is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to provide home health therapy services. The PTA delivers services under the treatment plan established by a Physical Therapist, helping patients improve mobility, function, and independence. The role includes monitoring patient progress, reporting changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist, and educating patients and caregivers on home therapy programs and techniques. The PTA also teaches patients and families to use assistive devices safely and provides care in accordance with physician orders, clinical standards, and state practice guidelines.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, or reliable transportation to travel between patient homes and assigned work locations.
Nice To Haves
- Six or more months of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services according to the treatment plan established by the Physical Therapist.
- Help patients work toward therapy goals that improve mobility, function, and independence.
- Monitor patient progress and promptly report changes in condition or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home therapy programs and techniques to support continued progress.
- Teach patients and families how to safely use assistive devices, including canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, and orthotics.
- Deliver safe, high-quality therapy services in accordance with physician orders, clinical standards, and state practice guidelines.
